BMW Steering Rack Tag

Posted by admin

If you are trying to do some research on your BMW Steering rack you many need to get the tag number. Almost all have a tag on them from the manufacturer.

Most BMW Steering racks are made by a company called ZF out of Germany. There will be a ZF tag on the steering rack that will have a BMW part number and the ZF 10 digit part number.

7852955272 is a rack for 98 BMW 528. The numbers break down like this. 78 = steering rack, because ZF makes lots of parts.(80 is steering box) 52 is a series number, so this is 7852 series. 955 means standard rack. If it was 991 it would be Servotronic rack. 272 is the model number in the 7852 series.

Getting the exact ZF number will always ensure you get the correct rack, but do know that many of them interchange. In this case 7852974568 and 7852955278 is the same rack, just different productions of it, so they would fit in just fine.

Finding Swedish Parts

Posted by admin

Finding parts is often hard to do, especially if you are looking for unique parts. Well if you are looking for Volvo Parts or even Saab Parts we have a new supplier you should check out.

Our new supplier is Swedish Parts Network and you can check out SwedishParts.net for any parts you need there.

Its hard to find reliable suppliers of parts and I recommend you only use suppliers that have good people available on the phone. If you end up getting an overseas operator or wait forever then its time to move on to another supplier.
